New Zealand's top international short track speed skater, Blake Skjellerup, has broken the national 1500m record for the second time this season at the Canadian International Winterfest meet at Calgary.

In a superb warmup for the world championships at Vienna, Austria on March 4, Skjellerup produced a time of two minutes 12.060 seconds yesterday (NZT).

He was also 10th at a recent World Cup event in Beijing.
